Terre Haute, Ind. : The hearing impaired get some help from a new invention by Rose Hulman students.
Students at the school created an indication system that helps those with hearing loss to know when somebody is calling.
The electronic system makes a lamp flash when the person receives an incoming call.
The students created the helpful product for a senior project.
“This is a thorough project where we get a lot of feedback from a lot of different people and just finally seeing it all work in the end and seeing those lights flash for the first time was really exciting for us,” says senior Daniel Giranda.
Polycom is the sponsor for the device.
All of the senior projects will be featured in the department’s senior symposium.
