WASHINGTON, DC, USA: On Nov. 9, 2018, ACR GCD will be broadcasting live from Washington, D.C., to present the pitch sessions of the five finalists of their Sign On For Literacy competition. The finalists—eKitabuenumaGallaudet University’s Motion Light LabManos Unidas, and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology—have created breakthrough solutions to improve access to sign language and literacy resources for deaf children in developing countries.

Each finalist will pitch their innovation before a panel of judges who will determine which will advance to the next phase of the competition. The winning innovator(s) will receive up to $150,000 each in funding and the opportunity to pilot and test their innovation in a developing country.

Pitch sessions will be featured live on Facebook intermittently throughout the day. To ensure you don’t miss a session, like and follow the ACR GCD page on Facebook and ensure your notifications for our page are turned on. That way, you’ll receive a notification when a new pitch session is live.

They also encourage you to engage with them on Facebook by commenting with your opinions and insights on our Sign On For Literacy innovations.
