The European Disability Forum (EDF) is delighted to announce the fourth installment in its webinar series on Wednesday, 24th October related to the Sustainable Development Goals in the UN regions.
Speakers and content
We are delighted to welcome four passionate speakers from the African and Arabic regions.
- Stephen Chacha, Development Expert, Co-Founder Tanzania Data Lab, and Africa Philanthropic Foundation.
- Berhanu Tefera, Director, African Disability Forum.
- Angela Zettler, Disability Focal Point, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia.
- Mohammed Loutfy, Executive Director of Disabled People’s International – Arab Region and the Arab Forum for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Our speakers will be discussing the work done in Africa and the Arab regions in relation to the Regional Forums for Sustainable Development. We will welcome Stephen Chacha who will discuss the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Civil Society engagement mechanism. Berhanu Tefera will give a general overview on the UNECA. Our third speaker, Angela Zettler, will give an overview of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) concerning persons with disabilities in the Arab region in relation to the SDGs. Mohammed Loutfy will discuss the UNESCWA Civil Society engagement mechanism and the disability constituency.
This webinar is the fourth in our series aiming to discuss the regional coordination mechanisms for persons with disabilities and their participation at the Regional Sustainable Development Forums. The webinars are part of the International Disability Alliance (IDA) and Department for International Development (DFID) Catalyst programme. EDF invites organisations of persons with disabilities (DPOs/OPDs) as well as the disability movement, other stakeholders and members of the public interested by this topic to join us.
