New Ways for Employment and Social Inclusion to Leave No One Behind
Americas, Events, June 13 2018
NEW YORK, USA: For those in New York for the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD:
‘New Ways for Employment and Social Inclusion to leave no one behind’
On June 13th from 6:30-8:30 PM at UN Headquarters, Conference Room 12 (CR12)
Join for an exchange of views, where they will present a case study operating in Europe and Latin America: the ONCE Social Group.
It is estimated that 47% of the current jobs are at risk of disappearing in the future and the World Bank reckons 8 out of 10 children will work in their adulthood in labour activities that do not exist today. This is a challenging context for persons with disabilities who already face difficulties in the current labour market and social protection schemes. The future will create new jobs, that will require more inclusive markets, with quality employment for people with disabilities, demanding new capacities, combined with standards of excellence in public and private management so as to ensure economic and social profitability are compatible. This will be translated into a transformation of the non-profit sector, foundations as well as of the business world.
The side event is co-sponsored by ONCE Social Group, the Permanent Missions to the UN of Ecuador and Spain, European Disability Forum (EDF), Red Latinoamericana de Organizaciones no gubernamentales de Personas con Discapacidad y sus Familias (RIADIS) and the International Disability Alliance (IDA)
CART and English-Spanish interpretation will be provided.
