Swiss Broadcasting Corporation to increase accessible content

The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) has decided to increase it’s accessible media content by 2022 to reach out to a wider audience.

The SBC, which includes public radio, television and online services aims to subtitle 80% of it’s programmes. The Corporation also plans to provide 900 hours of audio described content and 1000 hours of sign language, which will be more than double of its current accessible content.

The move is expected to cost CHF17 million ($17.7 million). A deal has been made with seven organizations, which showed the willingness of the corporation to include all members of society and encourage equal participation of all.
