Dubai to host ‘AccessAbilities’ Expo in November

Come November, Dubai will host the Middle East’s largest expo to showcase the world’s latest and smart assistive technology products and devices for persons with disabilities.

Wheelchair To be held from November 7-9 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), the expo is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

The expo will witness the launch of the world’s first smart eyeglasses that will enable people with visual impairment to function without assistance and will showcase products like cars designed to be driven from a wheelchair, innovative solutions for sound sensory stimulation, braille readers, wireless monitoring devices amongst many other things.

The event aims at motivating government authorities and private sector stakeholders to change their perception about people with disabilities, to help integrate them in society and to overcome challenges faced by them in their daily lives.
