ABU DHABI: The UAE National Archives has released a series of national documentary films in sign language for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, in co-operation with the UAE Deaf Association.
The films, produced as part of an initiative to promote national heritage, culture and patriotism and project the history of the UAE, will be broadcast in sign language on the National Archives’ YouTube channel.
The new productions also shine a light on the achievements of the nation’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Qualified sign language translators were involved in the project which seeks to support the integration of people with disabilities into society.
