GOZO, MALTA: The Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Ageing Dr Justyne Caruana has inaugurated the #nikbruflimkien campaign in Gozo – An educational campaign in favor of persons with disabilities.
At an activity on Friday organized by the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability in Gozo (CRPD), children from schools around Gozo participated in various activities to raise awareness about the various abilities of persons with disabilities.
Dr Caruana said that the aim of the campaign is that all children in Gozitan schools are exposed to the reality of disability, not only to educate them but create more respect and promote the value of the potential of every person and their abilities.
Sessions for the school children will be taking place in the Ghajnsielem Learning Hub. They will be hands-on, so that the children can see and touch with the same different disabilities, both physical, intellectual and sensory.
Justyne Caruana stressed that this campaign is important because the best way to promote inclusion is among children.
The Parliamentary Secretary thanked Mary Rose Attard and Frank Buhagiar for their work within the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability in Gozo.
Dr Caruana also thanked all those cooperating and working towards making #nikbruflimkien a success.
