DOHA: Qatar Assistive Technology Center (Mada) is organizing the Second National Autism Forum to be attended by local and global educators, researchers and specialists.
The event, in partnership with Qatar Autism Families Association and under the theme ‘Challenges and Achievements’ will be held in Hilton Doha from October 9 to 11 under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The three-day forum will tackle key topics related to autism spectrum disorder; autism definitions; diagnosis; characteristics; facts; and common misconceptions.
“The forum is part of Mada’s strategy to support the disabled with technology and the overall ecosystem. It aims at achieving integration between all national institutions to contribute to improving services for the disabled in Qatar. It also translates our commitment as a public benefit non-profit organisation to raise awareness about of the rights of the people with disabilities,” said Maha Al Mansoori, CEO, Mada. The forum will discuss genetics of autism; family lives; strategies and approaches; fundamental parenting tools for positive behaviours; and tips to develop autistic children’s communication skills, among others.
