Helm, translates into the word “Dream”, is a non-profit organization that aims to promote the full inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in all aspects of life, and specifically, to facilitate their employment and ensure that private and public premises are accessible to all. Helm aims to promote social inclusion for Persons with Disabilities in Egypt through Building partnerships with different stakeholders to break down barriers towards the full participation of Egyptians with disabilities.
Helm is holding Egypt’s First Global Conference on Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities, on the 24th -25th of May 2016. “Cairo 2016: A City for All” aims to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities in Egypt by engaging all stakeholders; including governmental officials, policy-makers, companies, infrastructure developers, educationalists, disability rights activists and researchers, to develop a measurable action plan aiming at enhancing the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of life, with a focus on accessibility, employment, and accessible tourism.
Helm is bringing the most knowledgeable experts from all over the world (16+ Countries), as well as leaders in the field, to develop a measurable action plan aiming at enhancing the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of life together with 200+ CEOs and senior representatives from Multinational and Large Egyptian Corporations; Egypt’s Parliamentary members; Decision maker and policy makers.
Helm held a Preparatory Roundtables on the 8th of December 2015, with over 85 Companies from 7 countries of Senior Representatives from Corporate, international and national organizations, as well as representatives from Ministries of Social Solidarity, and Communications and Information Technology, to explore the Market Value of Persons with Disabilities.

NEW APP – Towards an Inclusive Society for All
Accessibility is a means of ensuring that Persons with Disabilities are able to exercise all rights and fundamental freedoms, and is empowered to participate fully in society on equal terms with all others. Helm Consultants provide professional services, based on International Accessibility Standards, to help institutions go through the Achievable Barrier Removal process for their existing premises and help new constructions to be fully accessible starting from the design phase. Our aim is that all new constructions accommodate everyone.
On March 28th, 2016 – Helm Egypt launched a new application named Entaleq, in an attempt to make premises across the country accessible for people with disabilities. Through the pilot phase of the app, the organization has succeeded in assessing 300 places, and making 200 places more accessible in Cairo. Some of which are: Al Futtaim Group Estate, Pepsico, El Araby Group, Professional Development Foundation, El Ezaby Pharmacies, L’Oreal Egypt, International Labour Organization. With its slogan ‘Breaking Barriers’, the new application helps people with different kinds of disabilities to locate accessible places according to their needs.
