KOCHI, INDIA: An assistive technology seminar, jointly organized by the Ernakulam district committee of the Kerala Federation of the Blind and its youth forum, will be held at the Ernakulam Town Hall at 11.30 am on Sunday.
The seminar will be inaugurated by Minister K Babu. The inaugural function will be presided over by Mayor Tony Chammany.
Papers on topics like ‘usage of white cane’, ‘software to speak on smartphones’, ‘DAISY project that helps students who are blind or have low vision learn alongside their sighted colleagues’, ‘Malayalam software on a talking computer’ and ‘unemployment among blind’ will be presented at the seminar.
Deputy Mayor B Bhadra, Sajeevan C, Jaison Thomas, Binoy V S and Sudheer M will also speak.
