Brazilian operator Telefonica/Vivo is aiming to promote accessibility for people with hearing disabilities on its institutional website, through translation and display of all content in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras).
The facility will be possible due to the use of ProDeaf, a software that enables all information to be adapted to Libras. The software was developed by Proactive Technology Solutions, one of the start-ups supported by Telefónica’s business accelerator Wayra.
The initiative is the result of a partnership between Telefonica and Proactive, and the process of translating the site should begin in the first half of 2013.
