Egypt to create ICT centers for persons with disabilities

Egypt’s s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Education on supporting s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (ICT) centers for persons with disabilities at Public Universities.
The agreement was signed at the second Annual Conference and Exhibition on ICT for Persons with Disabilities at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) headquarters in Smart Village.
The event was held over two days under the auspices of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Atef Helmy, as part of the MCIT’s strategy to enable and integrate people with disabilities into society.
At the event, international ICDL certificates were handed to 35 citizens with disabilities. Minister Helmy and the Minister of Higher Education, Dr Mostafa Mosaad, signed a 3-year cooperation protocol to support the 23 rehabilitation centers at public universities with ICTs, at a cost of about 2, 750,000 Egyptian pounds.
