Global conference on autism opens in Oman today

MUSCAT: The 1st International Conference on Autism 2012 will be opened at the conference hall in Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) today under the patronage of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat.

The conference is held in co-operation between the College of Medicine and a number of governmental and private authorities in the Sultanate.

The conference will focus on four main themes:

  • The Modern Trends in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Autism,
  • The Modern Trends in the Development and Education of Children with Autism,
  • The Role of Society in Caring for all Autistic Children,
  • Status and Prospects and Modern Trends in Preparing the Autism Specialists’.

A number of Arab and international experts will take part in the conference that aims at surveying establishments, organisations and individuals with interest in autism in the Sultanate.
