Azerbaijan begins to make accessible urban infrastructure for people with disabilities

Baku: The Ministry of Labour & Social Protection of Azerbaijan proposes to change the city’s infrastructure to improve living conditions for people with disabilities.
Today in Baku labour minister Fizuli Alakbarov has said that the country pays serious attention to the issue of disability, and this initiative is supported by the European Union as well.
“Improvement of living conditions for people with disabilities in Azerbaijan is carried out within the framework of the EU Action Plan 2015-16 which bears mainly recommendation character. In this regard, the Action Plan reflects issues of improving the living conditions of people with disabilities and their smooth reintegration into society. In Azerbaijan, to ensure these conditions it is needed to bring infrastructure in conformity, create jobs equipped specially for people with disabilities. The society must change the approach to disability issues,” the minister said.
