Japan Accessible Tourism Center launched website for tourist with disabilities

More and more people with disabilities or elderly people are travelling in Japan. There is plenty of accessibility information available in Japanese, but if you are a foreign tourist with disabilities wishing to visit Japan, very little information available related to accessibility, language is the barrier to find accessibility information for foreign tourist with disabilities.
In January 2011, a non-profit organization, Japan Accessible Tourism Center (JATC) set up a website which provides accessibility information in multiple languages for foreign tourist with disabilities, presently barrier-free tourism information only available in English and Japanese. The website accessibility information in Chinese and Korean will be available in spring 2012.
The JATC website provides accessibility information of transportation, accommodation, tourist spots, restaurants, hot springs, museums, shopping, amusement park, sports, temples and theaters etc. Japan Accessible Tourism Center helping making arrangements for care attendants, booking accommodations, offering tips for travelling, providing assistance in case of emergency problems during your trip, etc. JATC can also plan and coordinate group tours or study tours.
